Shearless curve breakup in the biquadratic nontwist map

چکیده
Nontwist area-preserving maps violate the twist condition along shearless invariant curves, which act as transport barriers in phase space. Recently, some plasma models have presented multiple curves space and these can break up independently. In this paper, we describe different curve breakup scenarios of so-called biquadratic nontwist map, a recently proposed map derived from model, that captures essential behavior systems with curves. Three are found their dependence on system parameters is analyzed. The results indicate relation between periodic orbit reconnection-collision sequences. addition, even after breakup, remaining inhibit global transport.

The Breakup Condition of Shearless KAM Curves in the Quadratic Map
We determined the exact location of the shearless KAM curve in the quadratic map and numerically investigate the breakup thresholds of those curves in the entire parameter space. The breakup diagram reveals many sharp singularities like fractals on the reconnection thresholds of the twin-chains with rational rotation numbers.

The breakup of shearless invariant tori with winding number = 11+ / 12+ in continued fraction representation of the standard nontwist map is studied numerically using Greene’s residue criterion. Tori of this winding number can assume the shape of meanders folded-over invariant tori which are not graphs over the x axis in x ,y phase space , whose breakup is the first point of focus here. Secondl...
متن کاملOn a new fixed point of the renormalization group operator for area-preserving maps
The breakup of the shearless invariant torus with winding number ω = √ 2 − 1 is studied numerically using Greene’s residue criterion in the standard nontwist map. The residue behavior and parameter scaling at the breakup suggests the existence of a new fixed point of the renormalization group operator (RGO) for area-preserving maps. The unstable eigenvalues of the RGO at this fixed point and th...
متن کاملArea preserving nontwist maps: periodic orbits and transition to chaos
Area preserving nontwist maps, i.e. maps that violate the twist condition, are considered. A representative example, the standard nontwist map that violates the twist condition along a curve called the shearless curve, is studied in detail. Using symmetry lines and involutions, periodic orbits are computed and two bifurcations analyzed: periodic orbit collisions and separatrix reconnection. The...
متن کاملMeanders and reconnection-collision sequences in the standard nontwist map.
New global periodic orbit collision and separatrix reconnection scenarios exhibited by the standard nontwist map are described in detail, including exact methods for determining reconnection thresholds, methods that are implemented numerically. Results are compared to a parameter space breakup diagram for shearless invariant curves. The existence of meanders, invariant tori that are not graphs,...
